Cyberpunk 2077 has to be one of the most awaited RPG games there ever has been. What’s all this hype about?
CD Projekt Red’s next game, Cyberpunk 2077, has developed a huge fan base even before coming out. The game is based on the 80’s game Cyberpunk 2020 developed by Mike Pondsmith. It has been in development for almost a decade now and counting for days, if not months, since the last date it was postponed.
CD Projekt Red has never disappointed with its Witcher series, setting the stakes very high for the upcoming RPG game. The first trailer of Cyberpunk 2077 was first released seven years ago, and the hype behind the game has been increasing since then.
In 2019, Keanu Reeves announced that he would be a part of this game at the Xbox conference in 2019. On the same day, another trailer was released, which left the audience star struck. Keanu also said that the game would be out on April 16th this year.
However, the release date was then postponed to September 17th. Now, finally, the release date has been set to December 10th. It has to be one of the biggest build ups we’ve ever seen to the release of a game. For now, fans are hoping that the game will come out on the 10th of this month.
The hype has been overwhelming now to the point where individual developers have received death threats. (That’s a bit too much guys, how about we keep the killing to the game, yeah?)
Sneak Peak in Game
Cyberpunk 2077 is set in Night City, North Carolina that has an impressive reputation for many reasons. It was voted the worst city to live in. It has the highest terror levels, and almost everyone lives under the poverty line.
The game starts as the protagonist and his partner in crime stealing “the chip” for Dex, a character in the game. This chip is not just any computer chip; it grants immortality to its user.
The protagonist will then be accompanied by Johny SIlverhand, portrayed by none other than Keanu Reeves. That’s the only part of the storyline we know till now.
Coming to the gameplay, Cyberpunk 2077 has too many options to select. The player can design their character however they wish. They meant it when they said design, though; you can choose the smallest detail of your name and make your dream-protagonist. You can decide your storyline too.
The protagonist can be from the streets or a corporate, or a nomad. Moreover, you can choose the type of cars you want and the kind of weapons you’ll carry.
And… Cyberpunk is Coming.
That’s how it has been till now, and we hope that the buildup that CD Projekt Red has created will be worth it. Cyberpunk will be out on all gaming platforms, and word is there might be a multiplayer version coming up too.
Nine days you all, let’s hope this will be worth the wait! Happy Gaming to all of you till then!
