Researched by Harsh Talreja, Gaming Nation, Mumbai. Last updated April 2026.

Honest sourcing disclosure. Gaming Nation has not visited Dubai cafes in person. This article is built from verified Google Maps data (scraped April 2026), Reddit sentiment on r/dubai and r/uaegaming, direct Instagram outreach to listed venues, and cross referenced with expat gaming communities on Discord. Prices, hours, and operational status change fast in Dubai. If you own a listed cafe and want a verified 2026 update, email [email protected] and we will correct the record. We flag uncertainty wherever we have it.

What to expect in Dubai

Dubai is the most expensive cafe market in the Gulf and one of the priciest in the world. Most serious lounges run top spec RTX 40 series rigs, 240Hz IPS panels, and mechanical boards. Console rooms usually pair PS5 and Xbox Series X with 4K OLED or 65 inch LG QNED screens. Hourly rates sit between 30 and 60 AED for PC, 40 to 80 AED for PS5, and premium sim racing rigs can hit 100 AED per hour.

Air conditioning is set aggressively cold, which is a blessing from June to September when street temperature crosses 45 degrees. Weekend crowds peak Thursday evening through Saturday night since the UAE weekend is Saturday and Sunday. Some smaller cafes briefly close during Friday Jummah prayer around 12:30 to 1:30 PM. Staff speak English and Arabic, and at Indian diaspora heavy cafes you will hear Hindi, Malayalam, and Tagalog behind the counter too.

Quick picks

  • Best for competitive PC: Galaxy Racer Esports Facility (Jumeirah)
  • Best console lounge: iStyle Gaming Lounge
  • Best for casual walk in: Gamers Hub Al Nahda
  • Best for a late night session: Respawn Dubai (weekend 24 hour on listing)
  • Best for Indian expats near Karama and Bur Dubai: PlayAnyGame and smaller Mankhool lounges
  • Best for a tourist quick session: Dubai Mall arcades (Hub Zero closed, Magic Planet has some PC stations)

Detailed cafe profiles

1. Galaxy Racer Esports Facility

Neighborhood: Jumeirah, near City Walk.
Maps indication: Listed and active on Google Maps as a dedicated esports HQ.
Approx price: 50 to 75 AED per hour for pro rigs. That is about 1150 to 1725 INR or 13.60 to 20.40 USD.
Hours: Public listings indicate 12 PM to midnight, event days vary.
Setup: High end PCs on 240Hz and 360Hz panels, streaming booths, tournament stage.
What is good: The closest thing to a pro esports facility in the Gulf. Consistent tournament hosting, including Valorant and Call of Duty events.
What is not: Premium pricing, heavily event booked on weekends. Not a casual walk in vibe.
Who it is for: Competitive players, content creators, anyone wanting a serious ranked grind.

“Absolutely world class setup, felt like a stadium. Staff were helpful for a tournament drop in.” Google Maps review, dated February 2026.

Status note: As of our April 2026 research, public listings suggest this location is operational. Confirm via Instagram before visiting.

2. Gamers Hub Dubai (Al Nahda branch)

Neighborhood: Al Nahda 1, near the Sharjah border. A second branch has been listed in Al Qusais historically.
Maps indication: Active listings across multiple branches.
Approx price: 25 to 40 AED per hour PC, 35 to 50 AED per hour PS5. Around 575 to 920 INR per hour.
Hours: Roughly 2 PM to 3 AM on weekdays, open later on weekends.
Setup: RTX class PCs, PS5 rooms, sim racing seats, private rooms for groups.
What is good: Reasonable pricing for Dubai, strong FIFA community, welcoming to South Asian regulars.
What is not: Al Nahda location is a drive from Downtown or Marina. Parking during peak hours can be rough.
Who it is for: Expats living on the Sharjah side, FIFA and Tekken crews, anyone wanting decent value.

“Great setup, the PS5 rooms are cool and private. Food delivery is allowed which is a plus.” Google Maps review, dated January 2026.

3. iStyle Gaming Lounge

Neighborhood: Public listings place it in Al Barsha or nearby. Confirm branch location on Instagram.
Maps indication: Listing is active, reviews consistent through 2025.
Approx price: 35 to 55 AED per hour.
Hours: Noon to 2 AM typical.
Setup: Console focused, several PS5 and Xbox pods with OLED panels.
What is good: Clean, modern, and styled like a premium lounge rather than a grungy net cafe.
What is not: Limited PC seats, so competitive Valorant players should look elsewhere.
Who it is for: Couples, friend groups, console only players who want a polished experience.

Status note: We noted consistent reviews through late 2025. Status in 2026 appears operational, but we could not confirm all branches.

4. PlayAnyGame and Game Over

Neighborhood: Various small branches around Bur Dubai, Karama, and Deira in past listings. Ownership and branding has shifted over the years.
Maps indication: Some branches have patchy listings. We found mixed signals on current operational status.
Approx price: 20 to 35 AED per hour, the cheapest tier in Dubai.
Hours: Often 3 PM to 2 AM, some 24 hour on weekends.
Setup: Older but functional PCs, dense seating, strong FIFA and CS2 crowd.
What is good: Budget friendly, walking distance to Karama metro for Indian expats.
What is not: Hardware not top tier, cramped.
Who it is for: Students, budget travelers, anyone staying in Bur Dubai who wants a quick session without a long metro ride.

Status note: We are not fully confident every branch is still active. Call before you ride out.

5. Arcadia Gaming

Neighborhood: Reviews and listings point to Business Bay or near Sheikh Zayed Road.
Maps indication: Active through 2025 with regular reviews.
Approx price: 40 to 60 AED per hour.
Hours: 1 PM to 2 AM typical.
Setup: PC heavy, custom loop rigs visible in photos, curved ultrawides on a few stations.
What is good: A design forward lounge with good food and drink options. Popular with content creators.
What is not: Pricey. Limited parking at peak.
Who it is for: PC players who want a premium ambience and a flat white to go with their ranked match.

6. Respawn Dubai

Neighborhood: Listings suggest JLT or nearby business cluster.
Maps indication: Active.
Approx price: 40 to 55 AED per hour.
Hours: Public listings indicate weekend 24 hour operation.
Setup: Mixed PC and console, tournament screen, streaming corner.
What is good: One of the few late night friendly options for JLT and Marina residents.
What is not: Can fill up fast on Thursday and Friday nights.

7. Xtreme Gamerz (status uncertain)

We noted older Google Maps listings and Reddit mentions through 2023 and 2024. In our April 2026 research, public listings are patchy, so we cannot confirm this specific venue is still trading. If you find it operational, email us and we will reinstate a full profile.

8. PS5 console rental lounges (JLT and Deira)

Not a cafe in the classical sense. Multiple operators deliver a PS5 with two controllers, an optional 4K TV, and a curated game library to your hotel room or flat for around 100 to 150 AED per day. Popular with families staying for a week. Search “PS5 rental Dubai” on Instagram and pick one with over 500 followers and recent reviews.

Pricing reality, compared to the region

Dubai is the most expensive Gulf cafe market. This is not a case of local cafes being greedy, it is rent, power, and premium hardware depreciation.

CityTypical PC rate per hourIn INRIn USD
Dubai30 to 60 AED700 to 13808.15 to 16.30
Abu Dhabi25 to 50 AED575 to 11506.80 to 13.60
Riyadh20 to 35 SAR450 to 7905.30 to 9.30
Doha20 to 40 QAR460 to 9205.50 to 11.00
Mumbai (for contrast)80 to 200 INR80 to 2000.95 to 2.40

A five hour Dubai session costs more than a full month of weekend gaming at a Pune cafe. Budget accordingly.

Ping reality

On Etisalat or du fiber inside a Dubai cafe, typical ping we have seen reported by players:

  • Valorant EU (Frankfurt, London): 30 to 55 ms, very playable.
  • CS2 EU servers: 40 to 70 ms.
  • Apex Legends EU: 40 to 65 ms.
  • Call of Duty Warzone EU: 45 to 80 ms.
  • BGMI Mumbai servers: 120 to 160 ms. Note BGMI is restricted in UAE so this is theoretical.
  • Valorant Mumbai: 110 to 140 ms.
  • Dota 2 SEA: 120 to 170 ms.

If your main game is an EU based shooter, Dubai is excellent. If your identity is hardlocked to Indian servers, you will feel the lag compared to home.

Important local restriction. BGMI and PUBG Mobile are not available in the UAE through normal channels. VPN use to access restricted apps is its own legal gray zone. Most cafes will not install these titles, and pushing staff to do so is not a good idea. Stick to Valorant, CS2, Apex, Fortnite, COD Mobile, FIFA, Tekken, Street Fighter 6, and the standard console catalogue.

For Indian expats and travelers

A few practical notes we see asked repeatedly on r/dubai and r/IndiansinDubai.

  • UPI does not work. Your PhonePe, GPay, and Paytm are useless at a Dubai counter. Bring a forex card (Niyo, BookMyForex, HDFC Multicurrency) or a standard international Visa or Mastercard.
  • Cash in AED is accepted everywhere. Smaller Deira and Karama cafes prefer cash. ATMs are plentiful, fees are reasonable on forex cards.
  • NOL card is for metro and buses only. It does not pay for gaming sessions, but you will need it to reach most cafes efficiently.
  • Karama, Bur Dubai, Al Nahda, and Deira are the diaspora dense neighborhoods. Hindi is understood at most counters. Food delivery from Ravi, Calicut Paragon, and Bombay Chowpatty is common during long sessions.
  • Roaming SIM vs local SIM. Grab a du or Etisalat tourist eSIM at the airport. Dubai cafe Wi Fi is usually strong, but you want a working phone for cab apps and Google Maps.

Transportation and metro access

Dubai Metro is the cleanest, cheapest way to reach most cafes.

  • Jumeirah area (Galaxy Racer): Closest metro is Burj Khalifa or Business Bay, then a 10 minute Careem ride.
  • Al Nahda (Gamers Hub): Al Nahda station on the Green Line, short walk or 5 minute ride.
  • Business Bay (Arcadia): Business Bay metro on the Red Line.
  • JLT (Respawn): DMCC or Sobha Realty metro stations.
  • Karama and Bur Dubai lounges: ADCB or Al Fahidi metro, walkable to several small cafes.
  • Deira cafes: Union, Baniyas Square, or Al Rigga stations.

Careem and Uber are reliable, fares are higher than India but predictable. An average cross city cab runs 30 to 60 AED.

Cultural notes and etiquette

  • Ramadan hours. Daytime hours are cut, no eating or drinking inside during fasting. Evening sessions after Iftar are busier than usual and often extend past 3 AM.
  • Friday prayer. Jummah around 12:30 to 1:30 PM. Smaller independent cafes may pause service, large commercial lounges stay open.
  • Family sections. A few traditional cafes still have a family section that separates solo men from women or families. Most modern lounges are fully mixed.
  • Dress code. Smart casual is fine. Avoid very short shorts or slogan shirts with profanity, especially at mall based venues.
  • Noise. Open mic trash talk at top volume is frowned on. Headsets are standard.
  • Tipping. Not expected but appreciated. Round up to the nearest 10 AED at the counter.

Visa and long stay considerations

If you are in Dubai for more than a tourist stint and gaming is part of why you are there, two visa categories matter.

  • Golden Visa for creative talent. Professional esports athletes, coaches, and content creators with verified earnings have received 10 year Golden Visas under the cultural and creative category. You need documented income and a nomination or an approved agency sponsor.
  • Remote work visa. One year virtual working program for employees of foreign companies earning a minimum monthly threshold (around 3500 USD at time of writing). This covers streamers and remote esports staff with a foreign employer.

Neither visa changes cafe access, but both matter if you are considering Dubai as a base rather than a stopover.

Alternatives to cafes

  • PS5 and Xbox rental at your flat or hotel. 100 to 150 AED per day with delivery. Good for groups of four or more since the per person cost drops below cafe rates.
  • Hotel gaming lounges. Atlantis The Palm and Atlantis The Royal have had kids gaming zones with consoles. Caesars Palace Bluewaters has run occasional gaming nights. Premium hotel lounges are not cost effective but are convenient.
  • Coworking with your own rig. A few coworking spaces around Downtown and DIFC allow personal laptops but not full tower desktops. Decent enough for a handheld or a gaming laptop Valorant session.
  • Mall arcades. Magic Planet in Mall of the Emirates and Deira City Centre have a handful of PC stations mixed into the arcade. Fun for one off visits, not serious play.

Around Dubai: Abu Dhabi quick mentions

If you are making the 90 minute drive to Abu Dhabi, look up Yas Gaming Arena near Yas Mall, Power League Gaming, and smaller spots along the Corniche. Pricing tends to run 10 to 20 percent cheaper than Dubai. Ferrari World and Warner Bros World both have token based arcade sections rather than proper cafes.

FAQ

Can I play BGMI in UAE?

No. BGMI and PUBG are restricted in the UAE and cafes generally will not have them installed. Play Valorant, CS2, Apex, or COD Mobile instead.

Are cafes 24 hour?

A handful run 24 hours on weekends, most close between 2 AM and 4 AM. Ramadan and event weekends can extend hours.

Do I need Emirates ID?

Tourists show a passport. Residents buying membership packs will be asked for Emirates ID.

Can women go alone to a cafe?

Yes. Dubai is generally safe. Galaxy Racer, iStyle, and mall based lounges are the most welcoming for solo women.

How do I pay if I am from India?

Forex card, Visa or Mastercard, or AED cash. UPI does not work.

What is the ping to India from Dubai?

Around 110 to 160 ms to Mumbai based game servers. Great for EU servers, not for Indian servers.

Do I need a VPN?

Most mainstream games work without one. VPN use for restricted content is a legal gray zone and not something we advise routing around.

Which metro stop is best for cafe hopping?

Business Bay for premium lounges, Al Nahda for value, Al Fahidi or ADCB for Indian diaspora cafes.

Is it cheaper to rent a PS5 for a week than use a cafe?

For groups of three or four staying a week, usually yes. A weekly PS5 rental around 500 to 700 AED beats 5 AED per hour added up across a group.

Do cafes serve food?

Most serve snacks and energy drinks, and allow food delivery during your session. Karak tea is standard in diaspora cafes.

Can I bring my own peripherals?

Yes. Almost every cafe welcomes your own mouse, keyboard, and headset. A tight 40 gram fingertip grip player will want to bring their own mouse given the AC cold.

Are tournaments open to tourists?

Most community tournaments accept tourists. Prize pool events often require UAE residency or a verified team.
