20 Best Offline PC Games Under 10GB (2026)
1. Terraria
Developer: Re-Logic | Release: 2011 | Size: ~200MB | Offline: Yes
System Requirements
- OS: Windows 10/11
- CPU: 2.0 GHz dual-core
- RAM: 2GB
- Storage: ~200MB
- Graphics: Intel HD 3000 or any GPU
200 megabytes. That is smaller than a single WhatsApp video. Terraria gives you a world to dig through, build in, and fight inside for hundreds of hours. The game has been updated for over a decade and the final update, Journey’s End, added so much content that new players in 2026 are still discovering things after 80 hours.
Dig down into the Corruption. Find demon altars. Craft a Night’s Edge. Fight the Wall of Flesh. Then the game opens up all over again in hardmode. The loop is genuinely addictive.
On a slow Jio connection in a Tier 3 town, you download this once in 3 minutes and never need internet again. For low-end PCs without a GPU, Terraria runs at 60fps on Intel HD graphics from 2012. One of the best value games ever made at any file size, let alone 200MB.
2. Stardew Valley
Developer: ConcernedApe | Release: 2016 | Size: ~500MB | Offline: Yes
System Requirements
- OS: Windows 10/11
- CPU: 2.0 GHz
- RAM: 2GB
- Storage: ~500MB
- Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 4000
One person built this game over four years. One person. Stardew Valley is a farming RPG where you fix up a run-down farm, build relationships with villagers, explore a mine, and do whatever you feel like at your own pace. There is no fail state. No timer breathing down your neck.
It is the kind of game you play at 1am when you want to decompress. Put on some music, water your crops, go fishing for thirty minutes. You will log 80 hours without noticing. The 1.6 update added a ton of new content including a new farm type, new events, and new endgame activities.
500MB install, runs on any potato laptop with Intel HD graphics, and costs about Rs 450. Stardew Valley is 100% offline after download and never requires an internet connection to launch. For train journeys from Mumbai to Pune or long hostel nights, nothing beats this.
3. Undertale
Developer: Toby Fox | Release: 2015 | Size: ~200MB | Offline: Yes
System Requirements
- OS: Windows 10/11
- CPU: Any dual-core
- RAM: 2GB
- Storage: ~200MB
- Graphics: Any integrated GPU
Undertale is one of those games you should go into knowing as little as possible. It looks like a simple RPG but it is not. The game knows it is a game, and it uses that in ways that are genuinely unexpected. The story, the characters, the music, all of it will stick with you.
Three major routes through the game: Pacifist, Neutral, Genocide. Each tells a different story. Your first run is probably 6-8 hours. Then you go back. The Genocide route alone changes how you feel about the whole game.
200MB, runs on anything, offline from minute one. Rs 350 is the price. If you have never played it, this is worth your time more than most AAA games at 10x the price.
4. FTL: Faster Than Light
Developer: Subset Games | Release: 2012 | Size: ~175MB | Offline: Yes
System Requirements
- OS: Windows 10/11
- CPU: 2.0 GHz
- RAM: 1GB
- Storage: ~175MB
- Graphics: Any integrated GPU
FTL is a spaceship captain simulator where every run is different, most runs end in death, and you learn something new every single time. You manage your crew, upgrade your ship systems, and make decisions that can save you or get your entire crew killed by a fire in the oxygen room at sector 7.
175 megabytes. The Advanced Edition content is free and built in. With the right ship unlocks and weapon loadouts you will sink 50 hours before you reach the final boss consistently. The strategy depth here is absurd for the file size.
Runs on any laptop from 2010 onwards. Offline, always. For students in hostels or anyone on mobile data, this is the perfect “install once, play for months” game.
5. Dead Cells
Developer: Motion Twin | Release: 2018 | Size: ~500MB | Offline: Yes
System Requirements
- OS: Windows 10/11
- CPU: Intel i5 2.0 GHz or AMD equivalent
- RAM: 2GB
- Storage: ~500MB
- Graphics: Intel HD 4600 or equivalent
Dead Cells is the best roguelite on this list for pure feel. The movement is fast, the combat hits hard, and every run gives you a new set of weapons and builds to experiment with. The base game alone will take 40-60 hours to properly beat on higher Boss Cell difficulties.
Motion Twin released years of free updates after launch: new biomes, new weapons, new bosses. Then the DLC packs added full crossover content from Hollow Knight, Castlevania, and Skul. Even without DLC the base game is complete and satisfying.
500MB install, runs smooth on Intel HD 4600, and never asks for an internet connection. For gamers on 4GB RAM laptops, Dead Cells is one of the best options on the market right now.

6. Celeste
Developer: Maddy Makes Games | Release: 2018 | Size: ~1.2GB | Offline: Yes
System Requirements
- OS: Windows 10/11
- CPU: Intel Core i3 M380 2.5 GHz
- RAM: 2GB
- Storage: ~1.2GB
- Graphics: Intel HD 4000
Celeste is a precision platformer about climbing a mountain, and also about anxiety, self-doubt, and pushing through when everything in your head tells you to stop. The game is about something real. The story is better than most RPGs with 10x the budget.
The main campaign is 8-10 hours. But the B-sides and C-sides hidden in each chapter are some of the hardest platforming ever designed. Getting every strawberry and golden strawberry can push you past 40 hours. Assist Mode lets you slow the game down if needed, no judgment involved.
1.2GB, runs on Intel HD 4000, fully offline. Rs 350 on Steam. Celeste won the BAFTA for best game in 2019. That is not a small thing.
7. Slay the Spire
Developer: MegaCrit | Release: 2019 | Size: ~1GB | Offline: Yes
System Requirements
- OS: Windows 10/11
- CPU: 2.0 GHz dual-core
- RAM: 2GB
- Storage: ~1GB
- Graphics: Intel HD 4000
Slay the Spire created an entire genre. Deckbuilding roguelikes were a niche thing before this game. Now there are dozens of clones, and none of them have quite matched the original’s balance. Four characters, each with a completely different card pool and playstyle, and the daily challenge mode keeps things fresh even after 200 hours.
The strategy runs deep. Which cards to pick at each draft node. When to take relics that change your whole build direction. How to construct a combo that makes an Act 3 boss look slow. It takes 20 hours to feel competent and another 100 to feel like you understand it.
1GB, Intel HD compatible, offline from minute one. Rs 550 is the price. This is probably the highest replay value per gigabyte of any game on this list.
8. Into the Breach
Developer: Subset Games | Release: 2018 | Size: ~1GB | Offline: Yes
System Requirements
- OS: Windows 10/11
- CPU: 1.5 GHz dual-core
- RAM: 2GB
- Storage: ~1GB
- Graphics: Any integrated GPU
Into the Breach is turn-based strategy where the enemies always telegraph their attacks in advance. The challenge is not surviving the hit, it is figuring out how to reposition enemies, protect civilians, and deal damage all in one turn. It is basically chess with giant mechs and kaiju.
Subset Games are the same team behind FTL, and the design discipline shows. Every squad of three mechs plays completely differently. Unlocking all squads and beating all islands on each difficulty is a 30-40 hour journey that stays interesting the whole way.
1GB, runs on any old integrated GPU, zero internet needed. Rs 450 on Steam. This is one of those games that strategy fans in India seriously undervalue. Try it.
9. Valheim
Developer: Iron Gate Studio | Release: 2021 | Size: ~1.3GB | Offline: Yes
System Requirements
- OS: Windows 10/11
- CPU: Intel Core i5 3 GHz or AMD equivalent
- RAM: 8GB
- Storage: ~1.3GB
- Graphics: GTX 970 / AMD RX 480 (needs dedicated GPU)
1.3GB install for a game that looks and plays like a modern AAA title. Valheim is a Norse mythology survival game where you gather resources, build longhouses, craft gear, and fight massive biome bosses. The single-player solo mode works completely offline.
The progression feels earned. Getting to bronze, then iron, then the swamp biome is a 30-40 hour journey. The Mistlands and Ashlands updates added full new biomes with new mechanics. One person can easily spend 100 hours in a solo world.
Note: Valheim requires a dedicated GPU. Intel HD will not run it well. But if you have even an older GTX 1050, this will run. At 1.3GB the install size is shocking for how much content is inside.
10. GTA Vice City
Developer: Rockstar Games | Release: 2002 (Trilogy 2021) | Size: ~1.6GB | Offline: Yes
System Requirements
- OS: Windows 10/11
- CPU: Intel Core i5-6600K / AMD FX-8350
- RAM: 8GB
- Storage: ~1.6GB
- Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 / AMD Radeon R9 280 (Intel HD works for Vice City Definitive)
Vice City is set in a neon-soaked Miami-inspired city in 1986, and the atmosphere is still unmatched. Tommy Vercetti building his criminal empire from nothing, the 80s soundtrack blasting on the radio, the motorcycle missions, the helicopter missions. This game defined open-world for an entire generation of Indian gamers.
The Definitive Edition is the current Steam version and includes all three GTA games (III, Vice City, San Andreas) in one package for around Rs 750. Vice City alone is about 20-30 hours for the main story and much more if you go for 100%.
Fully offline, no Rockstar Online required for single-player. For anyone who played this in a cybercafe in 2003 and wants to replay it, or for new players who missed it entirely, this is the one.
Halfway there. For more options across different sizes, see our Best PC Games Under 10GB master list and Best PC Games Under 20GB.
11. GTA San Andreas
Developer: Rockstar Games | Release: 2004 (Trilogy 2021) | Size: ~4.7GB | Offline: Yes
System Requirements
- OS: Windows 10/11
- CPU: Intel Core i5-6600K / AMD FX-8350
- RAM: 8GB
- Storage: ~4.7GB
- Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 / AMD Radeon R9 280
San Andreas is the biggest game in the GTA Trilogy and many people’s favourite GTA of all time. Three cities, a massive countryside connecting them, RPG mechanics like gym stats and food affecting CJ’s body, and a story that pulls you through 40+ hours of missions before the credits roll.
The Definitive Edition fixed most of the original launch issues with patches. If you own the Trilogy package, San Andreas is included. This is the game that Indian cybercafes ran 24 hours a day from 2005 to 2010. A whole generation of PC gamers grew up on it.
Offline single-player, no internet required. 4.7GB. The Trilogy is legitimately the best way to own these three games legally in 2026.
12. Cuphead
Developer: Studio MDHR | Release: 2017 | Size: ~4GB | Offline: Yes
System Requirements
- OS: Windows 10/11
- CPU: Intel Core i3 (2.0 GHz)
- RAM: 4GB
- Storage: ~4GB
- Graphics: Intel HD 4400 or NVIDIA GeForce GT 640
Cuphead is a run-and-gun game hand-drawn in the style of 1930s cartoons. Every frame is a painting. The bosses are creative, the music is live jazz recorded by an orchestra, and the difficulty is genuinely hard. This is not a casual game.
The Delicious Last Course DLC adds Ms Chalice and new bosses that are better than anything in the base game. Budget around 10-20 hours for the base campaign and another 8-10 for the DLC if you want to buy it separately.
4GB install, runs on Intel HD 4400, no internet needed once downloaded. Rs 600 on Steam. The art alone is worth the price.
13. The Forest
Developer: Endnight Games | Release: 2018 | Size: ~5GB | Offline: Yes
System Requirements
- OS: Windows 10/11
- CPU: Intel Core i5-2300 2.8 GHz
- RAM: 4GB
- Storage: ~5GB
- Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 / AMD Radeon HD 6870
You crash-land on a peninsula and your son gets taken by cannibals. Build a shelter, gather food, and slowly descend into the horror below the surface. The Forest has a full story that ends when you find your son underground, and the cave system beneath the forest is one of the most unsettling things in any survival game.
Single-player works completely offline. The game supports local co-op on the same machine too. 30+ hours to complete the story properly, and you can spend another 20 just building an elaborate base if you want.
5GB install. Needs a dedicated GPU. Rs 550 on Steam. The sequel, Sons of the Forest, is larger and newer but also costs more. If you want the original experience, The Forest is still the better bang for money.
14. Far Cry 1
Developer: Crytek | Release: 2004 | Size: ~5GB | Offline: Yes
System Requirements
- OS: Windows 10/11
- CPU: Pentium 4 2.8 GHz or Athlon 64 3000+
- RAM: 1GB
- Storage: ~5GB
- Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce 3 Ti 200 or ATI Radeon 8500 (any modern GPU is extreme overkill)
Far Cry 1 is an open-world FPS set on a tropical island and it still plays well in 2026. Large environments, enemies with real AI that flank and communicate, multiple ways to approach each area. This was technically years ahead of its competition in 2004.
The story goes off the rails in the second half with mutant enemies, but the first half is great open-world FPS gameplay. 15-20 hours to finish. The game is available cheap or sometimes free through various bundles.
5GB, fully offline, runs on basically anything modern. For players who want a taste of where the Far Cry series came from before Ubisoft turned it into a formula, this is the one to try.
15. Frostpunk
Developer: 11 bit studios | Release: 2018 | Size: ~8GB | Offline: Yes
System Requirements
- OS: Windows 10/11
- CPU: Intel Core i5-2500K 3.3 GHz / AMD Phenom II X4 940
- RAM: 4GB
- Storage: ~8GB
- Graphics: GeForce GTX 660 / Radeon R9 270X
You are the last city on Earth. Everyone outside is frozen. You manage coal, workers, buildings, and laws to keep your people alive. Frostpunk makes you make real decisions: do you send children to work in the mines or let adults die from overwork? Pass martial law to stop panic or let society slowly collapse?
The main campaign is 10-15 hours and the ending hits hard every time. Three DLC expansions add completely different scenarios and mechanics. The tension never lets up from the first hour to the last.
8GB, needs a mid-range GPU, fully offline. Rs 700 on Steam. This is the best city-builder strategy game under 10GB by a significant margin, and one of the most emotionally intense games on this list.
16. Portal 2
Developer: Valve | Release: 2011 | Size: ~8GB | Offline: Yes
System Requirements
- OS: Windows 10/11
- CPU: 3.0 GHz P4 / Dual Core 2.0 GHz or better
- RAM: 1GB
- Storage: ~8GB
- Graphics: Intel HD 3000 or better
Portal 2 is the gold standard for puzzle games. You have a gun that makes portals. The puzzles start simple and escalate into multi-step spatial reasoning challenges that make you feel clever when you solve them. GLaDOS and Wheatley are two of the best game characters ever written.
The single-player campaign is 8-10 hours. It is complete, polished, and perfectly paced. There is also a co-op campaign designed for two players locally or online, but the solo campaign works entirely offline.
8GB, runs on Intel HD 3000, costs around Rs 200 on sale. Portal 2 goes on sale extremely often on Steam. If you have never played it, there is almost nothing comparable in puzzle game design at any price or size.
17. BioShock (2007)
Developer: Irrational Games | Release: 2007 | Size: ~8GB | Offline: Yes
System Requirements
- OS: Windows 10/11
- CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz or AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+
- RAM: 2GB
- Storage: ~8GB
- Graphics: NVIDIA 7800 GT / ATI X1900 (any modern GPU runs it at max settings)
Rapture is an underwater city built by a libertarian objectivist who thought great men should live without restrictions. You arrive after the whole thing has collapsed into civil war, and the story of what went wrong unfolds through audio diaries scattered across every level. The worldbuilding here is better than most novels.
BioShock mixes FPS gunplay with Plasmid powers that let you shoot lightning, freeze enemies, or send a swarm of bees. 12-15 hours for a complete playthrough. The twist in the third act is one of the best in gaming history.
8GB, fully offline, runs on any modern hardware at max settings. Rs 400 on Steam. This is one of those games that should be on every PC gamer’s list regardless of genre preference.
18. Dark Souls Remastered
Developer: FromSoftware / QLOC | Release: 2018 | Size: ~7GB | Offline: Yes
System Requirements
- OS: Windows 10/11
- CPU: Intel Core i5-2300 / AMD FX-6300
- RAM: 4GB
- Storage: ~7GB
- Graphics: GeForce GTX 750 Ti / AMD Radeon HD 7950
Dark Souls defined an era. Every action RPG released after 2011 that has “challenging combat” in its description is trying to be Dark Souls. The Remastered version runs at 60fps, supports modern resolutions, and includes the Artorias of the Abyss DLC.
Solo offline play is the traditional way to experience it. No summoning, no invasions, just you learning every enemy’s moveset through repeated deaths until it clicks. A first playthrough on any build takes 40-60 hours. A speed run by someone who knows the game can be done in under an hour, which tells you how much depth there is to learn.
7GB, needs a mid-range GPU, works entirely offline. Rs 1500 is full price but it goes on sale regularly for around Rs 400-600. For any gamer in India who has not touched Dark Souls yet, this is the place to start before Elden Ring.
19. Outer Wilds
Developer: Mobius Digital | Release: 2019 | Size: ~8GB | Offline: Yes
System Requirements
- OS: Windows 10/11
- CPU: Intel Core i5-2300 / AMD FX-4350
- RAM: 8GB
- Storage: ~8GB
- Graphics: GeForce GTX 660 / AMD RX 460
Do not let anyone spoil this game for you. Outer Wilds is a space exploration mystery where you are stuck in a 22-minute time loop that ends with the sun going supernova. The whole mystery of what happened to an ancient alien civilization and how to escape the loop unfolds purely through exploration and reading.
There is no combat, no health bar, no quest markers. You figure out where to go entirely by finding information. The game trusts you to be curious. 15-25 hours for a complete first playthrough, and the ending is one of the most memorable in gaming.
8GB, needs a mid-range GPU, works 100% offline. Rs 800 on Steam. Outer Wilds is the kind of game you wish you could experience for the first time again after finishing it.
20. Dishonored
Developer: Arkane Studios | Release: 2012 | Size: ~9GB | Offline: Yes
System Requirements
- OS: Windows 10/11
- CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad 2.4 GHz or AMD Phenom II X4 2.6 GHz
- RAM: 4GB
- Storage: ~9GB
- Graphics: GeForce GTX 460 / ATI Radeon HD 5870
Dishonored is a stealth action game set in a plague-ridden Victorian city where you have supernatural powers including short-range teleportation, time stop, and the ability to possess enemies and animals. You can complete every mission without killing a single person, or you can go loud and chain-teleport through a room executing everyone. Both feel right.
Arkane built every level with multiple routes and the game rewards experimentation. A full campaign is 10-12 hours on a first playthrough. Going for a ghost run (never detected, never kill) takes 20+ hours and is one of the most satisfying challenges in stealth games.
9GB, needs a mid-range GPU, fully offline. Rs 600 on Steam. Dishonored regularly goes on sale for under Rs 200. At that price it is one of the best deals in PC gaming, full stop.
Games That Look Offline But Are Not
Some games have “offline mode” as a feature but actually require an internet connection to launch or to activate for the first time. Here is what to watch out for.
Always-online games to avoid if you want true offline play:
- Destiny 2: requires servers to run. Zero offline functionality.
- Diablo 4: always-online DRM, no offline mode at all.
- Any live-service game (Fortnite, PUBG, Warzone): purely online, not applicable here.
- Dark Souls Remastered: offline mode works but you must activate Steam offline mode before losing internet. The game itself is single-player capable offline.
The Steam offline mode trap: Many Steam games work offline, but Steam itself has a quirk. If you try to go offline while Steam is already disconnected, it may refuse and ask for your password. The solution is to go offline deliberately while you still have internet. Go to Steam, click Settings, then Account, and put Steam in Offline Mode before your connection drops. Then you can play any game on this list without internet for as long as you want.
Steam also has a “remember password” requirement for offline mode on some machines. Log in at least once with internet on any new PC before expecting offline mode to work.
Playing Without Internet in India: What You Need to Know
Indian gamers deal with more connectivity issues than most. BSNL landlines drop during monsoon season. Jio data runs out mid-month. College hostels have firewalls that block Steam. Here is how to set yourself up properly.
Steam Offline Mode: The right way to do it
- Open Steam and log in while you have internet.
- Download the game fully.
- Go to Steam menu, click Go Offline.
- Steam will restart in offline mode.
- You can now play any single-player game without internet for as long as needed.
Do this before you travel, before monsoon season, before any situation where you know you will lose connectivity. Once Steam is in offline mode it stays in offline mode until you reconnect and click “Go Online.”
GOG Galaxy: Better for true offline play
GOG (Good Old Games) sells DRM-free versions of games. No client required after download. No offline mode setup. You install the game, close GOG Galaxy, and the game runs from its folder directly. Several games on this list are available on GOG:
- Stardew Valley: available on GOG, DRM-free
- Undertale: available on GOG, DRM-free
- FTL: Faster Than Light: available on GOG, DRM-free
- Dark Souls Remastered: Steam only, not on GOG
GOG is the better choice if you want zero dependency on any client. The game files sit on your drive and run on any Windows PC without any account verification.
Phone hotspot as a backup: Once a game is downloaded, none of the 20 games on this list require live data during gameplay. Your phone hotspot is only needed to download initially and to keep Steam’s offline mode authenticated. 1GB of data is more than enough for the initial Steam login and offline mode activation. The games themselves consume zero data once running.
For students on limited data plans, download these games once over your home broadband or college wi-fi, activate Steam offline mode, and you are set for months without touching your mobile data.
